BSB: Benjamin Earns First Team All-SLC Honors

The HCU senior wraps up his career tied for third in program history with 26 home runs

FRISCO, Texas – HCU senior outfielder Samuel Benjamin was selected first team all-Southland Conference on Tuesday in voting by the league's head coaches.

Benjamin, a starter in all 49 HCU games this season, led the Huskies and tied for second in the SLC with 15 home runs on the season with 11 of those round-trippers coming against conference opponents. Those 15 home runs are tied for second-most in a single season in HCU history. In two seasons as a Husky, Benjamin has blasted 26 home runs to tie for third-most all-time. He owns the highest number of home runs in a two-season span in program history.

Benjamin's 27 runs batted in in SLC play was tied for second in the conference while he drove in 39 runs over the course of the full season. Benjamin also led the team with 48 runs scored while batting .309 for the season. He recorded 17 multi-hit games in 2024 with seven games of at least three hits. He also led HCU with 11 stolen bases.

Benjamin is now a two-time all-conference performer after earning second team all-SLC recognition in 2023.
