LAKE CHARLES, La. – Thursday evening marks the HCU women's basketball team's penultimate road game of the 2023-24 season with the Huskies heading to the Legacy Center to take on the McNeese Cowgirls at 7:00 p.m.
 
HCU (6-20, 1-14 SLC) and McNeese (4-24, 0-15 SLC) faced off in Houston on Feb. 8 with the Huskies earning a 56-51 victory. HCU got a combined 37 points from seniors N'Denasija Collins and Kennedy Wilson in the win while holding the Cowgirls to just 31.9 percent (15-of-47) shooting. Emilia Tenbrock led McNeese with 14 points.
 
Last Saturday, the Huskies got a career day from freshman Makolla Bagayegou who poured in 19 points off the bench in a 64-55 loss to Northwestern State. Junior Enya Maguire added 12, connecting on 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
 
The Cowgirls have lost 17 games in a row, most recently dropping a 61-48 decision on their home floor to UIW. Mireia Yespes led all players with 23 points while Tenbrock added 12. In Southland Conference play, Tenbrock is second among all players in scoring with 15.4 points per game.
 
Following Thursday's game the Huskies will return home to Sharp Gym for the team's Senior Day game against Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, Mar. 2, at 1:00 p.m.
