VB: Huskies Set to Face A&M-Commerce in Key SLC Match

Huskies Aim to Extend Winning Streak Against Strong A&M-Commerce Lineup


 
HOUSTON, Texas — The HCU Huskies will take on Texas A&M-Commerce this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in an exciting Southland Conference matchup. Riding a two-game winning streak with recent 3-0 victories over New Orleans and UIW, HCU is showing strength as the season progresses.

The Huskies' success has been powered by stellar team efforts and individual achievements. Audrey Pearce leads the team with 264 kills, with Emerald Jacobs (234) and Ana Garza (177) close behind. Grace McLaughlin has been a playmaking force with 874 assists, and Tatiana Evans, who reached a major milestone of 1,000 career digs, leads the defense with 348 digs this season. Bianca Byerly has served up 27 aces to pace the team, while Pearce has excelled at the net with 106.0 blocks.

A&M-Commerce enters the game on a three-game winning streak in conference play, defeating HCU in their last matchup on October 26, followed by wins over Nicholls and Northwestern State. Led by Kitana Tuufuli's 255 kills and Ellie Baumert's 664 assists, the Lions have strong offensive depth and defensive strength with Jade Smith's 474 digs.

Following Thursday's game, the Huskies will return home on Saturday, November 9, for another SLC matchup against Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m.
