COMMERCE, Texas – HCU takes aim at the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions this Saturday afternoon at The Field House with tip-off set for 3:30 p.m. and the Huskies looking to snap a three-game losing streak.

HCU (5-9, 0-3 SLC) dropped a tough 63-61 road decision to Northwestern State on Thursday evening with senior Kennedy Wilson dropping a career-high 24 points in the loss. The Huskies trailed for much of the game, but never by more than eight, before clawing their way back to tie it multiple times in the fourth quarter. A three-pointer from N'Denasija Collins knotted the score at 58-58 with less than four minutes left but the Lady Demons pulled away for good in the final minute.

Wilson's 24 points moved her to 991 points for her career, just shy of the 1,000 career points milestone. She currently ranks 13th in program history for all-time scoring while also standing third in free throw percentage (.786) and ninth in assists (257). Collins, meanwhile, has moved into eighth all-time in scoring with 1,226 points for her career and is less than 100 points away from seventh.

Texas A&M-Commerce (6-7, 1-2 SLC) dropped a home game to UIW, 62-70, on Thursday. Senior guard Mia Deck led the Lions with 20 points in the loss, connecting on 8-of-16 from the field. Mary Delgado and Olivia Russell each pulled down nine rebounds. Deck leads TAMUC in scoring for the season, averaging 14.1 points per game and is also adding 6.2 rebounds per outing. Delgado is adding 13 ppg and Russell leads the way with 6.3 rpg.

TAMUC won both meetings with the Huskies last season, first in a close 65-62 final in Houston before defeating HCU 73-65 in Commerce.

The Huskies return home next week to host New Orleans on Thursday, Jan. 18, in Sharp Gym at 6:00 p.m. before taking on Lamar on Saturday, Jan. 20.
