th win for the Husky program since taking over in 2012.
The Huskies (7-7, 2-0 SLC) look to stay undefeated in conference play matching up against Lamar (0-13, 0-2 SLC). The match against the Cardinals is the third in a stretch of five over 10 days to open up the conference schedule and the first of three matches this week. HCU is 4-0 with a 12-1 set record versus the Cardinals since 2021, and it leads the all-time series 12-8.
HCU kicked off the first two matchups of the SLC with a perfect 6-0 set difference in sweeping Nicholls and UIW. The Huskies have made defense their calling card thus far, leading the conference with 17.48 digs per set which is ranked seventh in the NCAA. The Huskies are also ranked 10th nationally with 909 total digs and they lead the Southland with an opponent hitting percentage of just .195.
Sara Arroyo paces the Huskies on the offensive side, averaging 2.93 kills per game, which is just ahead of
Cassidy Drapela at 2.83.
Audrey Pearce continues to control the net, ranking second in the conference with 1.13 blocks per game.
Grace McLaughlin, the Southland Conference Setter of the Week, dishes out 9.40 assist per game, second in the league. Senior libero
Kaley Feris holds the top ranking in the Southland averaging 4.46 digs per set.
The Cardinals are led by Lyric Jordan averaging three kills and 1.69 digs per game. Jo Moffitt has dished out 6.47 assists per while Freedom Stephenson leads Lamar's backline with 113 digs on the season.
HCU returns to Sharp Gym for back-to-back conference matchups against rival Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and Northwestern State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
