The Huskies (9-29, 6-8 SLC) were led by freshman catcher
Dylan LaRue who went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, and a run. Junior third baseman
Reed Chumley went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run while freshman right fielder
Damian Ruiz went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run, and a stolen base.
Graduate student righthander
Walker Zander (2-4) earned the win, pitching six innings to start the game allowing one earned run on two hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Senior righthander
Morris Austin, notched his second save of the season, pitching 2.2 shutout innings of relief giving up two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
The Islanders (19-23, 7-7 SLC) were led by Max Puls who went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run. Brendan Ryan went 1-for-5 with two RBIs and a run while Chance Reisdorph went 1-for-5 with a double, a run, and an RBI.
Colin Purcell (3-5) took the loss for the Islanders, pitching five innings to start the game, allowing seven runs, six earned runs, on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout.
The Huskies took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning starting with a

Dylan LaRue tripled to right field driving in Chumley. LaRue scored the last run of the inning on a balk by the Islander's Colin Purcell. HCU tacked on another run in the bottom of the second inning when
William Jewell scored on a throwing error by the Islander's Diego Johnson. The Huskies scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning when LaRue singled to right center bringing in
Samuel Benjamin. HCU scored their last two runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning starting with a
Cash McNicholas double to center field scoring Jewell before Ruiz singled through the left side scoring McNicholas.
The Islanders scored their first run in the top of the fifth inning when Max Puls singled down the right field line scoring Christian Smith-Johnson. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi posted five runs in top of the seventh inning starting with a Brendan Ryan single to left field scoring
Sebastian Trinidad and Cole Modgling before Chance Reisdorph doubled down the left field line scoring Puls. Ryan scored on a wild pitch before Reisdorph scored on a sac fly to left field off the bat of Tre Jones.
