HOUSTON, Texas – HCU women's basketball is set to host the Southeastern Lady Lions in Sharp Gym Wednesday evening for Senior Day. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Garrett Jones and Van Chancellor and live stats can be followed at HCUHuskies.com.

HCU (11-17, 6-11 SLC) have dropped their last five games. Games against Lamar and McNeese came down to the final possession, but the Huskies found themselves on the wrong end of outcome. Most recently, the Huskies traveled to Nicholls where they lost 64-46. HCU was unable to get the offense going in that one after the Colonels jumped out to a 12-0 lead to open the game.

Southeastern (18-9, 13-4) comes into this one with hopes on winning the regular season conference title, the same as the Huskies did last season. Currently, the Lady Lions sit tied atop the conference standings with Texas A&M-Corpus.

The Lady Lions have rattled off 10 wins in their last 12 outings including splitting their last two. First, Southeastern traveled to Beaumont and dropped a game to the Lamar Cardinals before turning around and defeating the McNeese Cowgirls at home, 67-50.

Southeastern and HCU played each other in the second conference game of the season. Southeastern jumped out to a 24-10 lead in the first and held HCU to just nine second quarter points. HCU's offensive explosion in the second half completely erased the deficit, outscoring the Lady Lions 39-23 in the second half, however Southeastern held on to win in the end 63-58.

In that game, Enya Maguire led the Huskies with 17 points off the bench, including knocking down five three pointers. Marilyn Nzoiwu and N'Denasija Collins both played the entire game and combined for 28-points and 13-rebounds.

Collins still leads the Huskies in scoring and rebounding with 14.6 ppg and 7.6 rpg. Vujakovic averages 10.3 ppg while Kennedy Wilson averages 10 ppg. Abbey Sutherland and Nzoiwu are both in the top five in the Southland Conference in blocked shots with 35 and 34 respectively.
