COLLEGE STATION, Tx – HCU lost to #15 ranked Texas A&M Tuesday night (23-0) at Blue Bell Park in a non-conference mid-week matchup.

Reed Chumley went 3-for-3 with three singles and accounted for three of the Huskies (0-8) four hits. Freshman first baseman

Freshman righthander
Jonathan Valdez (0-1) took the loss, allowing six runs, four earned, on four hits with two walks and one strikeout in .1 innings to start the game. Freshman righthander
Daniel Farrow pitched a shutout fifth inning allowing one hit and one walk along with two strikeouts. Senior righthander
Trey Valka pitched a shutout inning allowing one hit. HCU used nine pitchers against the Aggies.
Austin Bost led the Aggies going 3-for-4 with six RBIs, three runs, two doubles, and a homerun. Kaeden Kent also went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double, a run, a walk, and a stolen base. Trevor Werner went 1-for-3 with five runs, three walks, a homerun, an RBI, and a stolen base. Hank Bard went 1-for-2 with three RBIs, two walks, and a homerun.
Ty Sexton (1-0) held the Huskies scoreless on one hit with two walks in one inning of relief. Texas A&M used seven pitchers in the shutout striking out six batters while giving up six walks.
HCU will travel to former Southland Conference opponent, Abilene Christian, later this week for a four-game series beginning Friday, March 3
rd.
