BSB: HCU Travel To Waco for Clash with Baylor Bears

BSB: Freshman RHP Jonathan Valdez makes his HCU debut

WACO, Texas - HCU will travel to take on Baylor in a midweek clash with the Big 12 on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark. The game will be shown on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
 
Freshman righthander Jonathan Valdez, a Houston native and Cypress Falls grad, is expected to make his HCU debut against Baylor. Senior outfielder Logan Letney is off to a hot start batting .500 (3-for-6) in the series against UTRGV on opening weekend. Freshman second baseman Cash Benavidez hit .375 (3-for-8) with a double, three walks and a run.
 
Baylor will start lefthander Kobe Andrade, a transfer from Texas A&M. Hunter Teplanszky hit .571 (4-for-7) with an RBI, two runs, and two walks in the Bears' season-opening series against Central Michigan. Baylor leads the all-time series against HBU, 6-2, with all of the previous meetings in Waco. The Bears took two-of-three from the Huskies in the season-opening series in 2018.
 
HCU will return to Houston for the Sugar Land Classic this weekend at Constellation Field.
