HOUSTON – HCU women's basketball is set for a rematch against the Northwestern State Lady Demons Thursday night at 5pm in Sharp Gym. The game can be watched live on ESPN+ with play-by-play from Garrett Jones and commentary from Hall of Fame coach Van Chancellor.

HCU (8-12, 6-3) is coming out of a tough month of January which saw them win just two of eight games. Recently, they have dropped three conference games in a row against Texas A&M-Corpus, Northwestern State, and Texas A&M-Commerce. The huskies will look to get back on track against the Lady Demons, their second time facing each other in the last three games.

In their most recent meeting, the Lady Demons (9-10, 5-4 SLC) jumped out to an early lead in the first before blowing the game open the third. HCU fought back but Northwestern State was able to snap a four game skid against the Huskies.

Recently, N'Denasija Collins passed the 900 career points total with a 22 point performance against Commerce. She is leading the Huskies in several categories this season, including scoring, averaging 13.6ppg and rebounding with 7.4 per game. Julija Vujakovic is the only other husky averaging double figures with 10.4ppg. Kennedy Wilson is averaging 9.3 ppg game and is having another strong season at the charity stripe, knocking down attempts at an 81 percent clip.

Marilyn Nzoiwu and Abbey Sutherland hold down the paint for HCU, having collected 23 and 21 blocks respectively. The duo is combining for 13 points and 11 boards per contest. Enya Maguire and Jo Oly are tasked with jump starting the second unit offensively, and are combining for 10 ppg on the season. Each knock down three pointers at better than 40 percent.

Candice Parramore is coming off of an impressive week for the Lady Demons, reaching the 20 points mark in each of their two victories. She was also named Player of the Week for her performance.

HCU is back in Sharp Gym Saturday afternoon at 2pm for their first meeting with the Nicholls Colonels this season.
