HOUSTON – On Thursday morning the Southland Conference released the football schedule for the 2024 season, completing the 12-game schedule for HCU next year.
The Huskies begin season two under head coach
Braxton Harris on Aug. 31 in Dallas against an SMU program playing its first-ever game as a member of the ACC. HCU then returns home for matchups with Tarleton and Louisiana Christian the next two Saturdays before heading to San Antonio, Texas to take on UTSA on Sept. 21. The non-conference schedule wraps up on Sept. 28 in Terre Haute, Ind., the only time the Huskies will leave the state of Texas, to face Indiana State.
SLC play begins at home on Oct. 5, hosting the Southeastern Lions before consecutive road games at Lamar and Texas A&M-Commerce. The Huskies will then have a bye week before hosting Nicholls and McNeese on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9, respectively. The final road game of the season takes the Huskies back to San Antonio on Nov. 16 to face UIW before closing out the regular season at home against Northwestern State on Nov. 23.
HCU is coming off its inaugural season under head coach
Braxton Harris and the first winning season in program history. The Huskies finished 2023 with a 6-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference play.
