LAWRENCE, Kan. – HCU women's basketball, fresh off a win over Wichita State on Monday, takes aim at the Kansas Jayhawks this Wednesday evening inside Allen Fieldhouse at 6:30 p.m. to close out the road portion of the team's non-conference schedule for this season.
The Huskies (4-5) took an early lead and trailed for just 24 seconds during the game's 40 minutes, withstanding a late 11-0 run, to earn the program's first win over an American Athletic Conference opponent. HCU forced 18 turnovers and limited the Shockers to just 27.9 percent (17-of-61) shooting from the floor and 18.2 percent (2-of-11) from three.

N'Denasija Collins led all players with 13 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals.
Kennedy Wilson added 10 points and four assists while
Amy Cotton fell just short of a double-double with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman
Tove Caesar contributed six points on a pair of clutch fourth quarter threes and
Enya Maguire pitched in with eight points.
The NCAA began publishing NET rankings on Monday, Dec. 4, and the Huskies presently have played the 16
th-toughest non-conference schedule in the nation and the toughest in the Southland Conference.
Kansas (3-4) was in Texas for its last game, a 63-52 loss in Bryan-College Station to the Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday, Dec. 3. Prior to the game vs. the Aggies, the Jayhawks defeated Southeastern at home, 67-56.
All five Kansas starters are averaging double-figures scoring, led by 6-6 senior Taiyanna Jackson who is nearly averaging a double-double of 13.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. She also has 15 blocked shots through seven games.
HCU wraps up non-conference play on Monday, Dec. 18, with a 1:00 p.m. matinee in Sharp Gym vs. Schreiner.
