LUBBOCK, Texas – The HCU women's basketball team held Texas Tech scoreless for almost five minutes to open the game but fell to the Lady Raiders, 79-34, on Friday evening at United Supermarkets Arena.

Senior N'Denasija Collins began the game with a made jumper, with an assist from Jo Oly, on the first possession for HCU (3-5). The Huskies forced four Texas Tech (9-0) turnovers over the next three minutes before buckets from Collins and Enya Maguire staked the Huskies to a 6-0 lead with 5:28 left in the first quarter.  The Lady Raiders, however, scored the next 16 points and held a 16-8 lead at the end of the period.

The Lady Raiders out-scored the Huskies, 14-6, in the second quarter and then 27-2 in the third to build a 57-16 advantage. To start the final quarter, Erin Maguire made a layup and following a TTU basket Collins made a pair of free throws followed by a Lyric Barr triple.
