LUBBOCK, Texas – HCU women's basketball begins a stretch of three consecutive games away from home beginning this Friday evening against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders inside United Supermarkets Arena at 6:00 p.m.
 
The Huskies (3-4) have won their last two games, both at home, with the most recent victory coming over Howard Payne by a 79-51 final score. HCU led by just four at the half in the win but out-scored the Lady Jacks, 26-9, in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Senior N'Denasija Collins led the Huskies with 22 pints, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists in the win while fellow senior Kennedy Wilson added 17 points. Over the last two games, Wilson is shooting 85.7 percent (12-of-14) from the floor, averaging 16.5 points and five assists per game.
 
Texas Tech (8-0) is off to its best start since the 2019-20 season when the Lady Raiders won their first 11 games, including a 59-51 win over the Huskies. Texas Tech sophomore Bailey Maupin leads the team with 17 ppg and has been among the nation's best at getting to the foul line, ranking eighth among all players with 50 free throw attempts this season. Most recently, the Lady Raiders earned a 60-54 home win over UC Irvine after heading into the fourth quarter trailing by two. Maupin scored a game-high 21 points.
 
HCU is 0-5 all-time vs. the Lady Raiders with the most recent result a 68-51 decision during the 2020-21 season. Three of those five HCU losses have been by eight points or less, including a 60-59 final on Dec. 30, 2014.
 
Following Friday's game in Lubbock, the Huskies will head to the Sunflower State for games at Wichita State, on Dec. 4, followed by a matchup in Lawrence, Kansas against the Kansas Jayhawks on Dec. 6.
