Houston Christian University embarks on a three-game road trip, starting with a Black Friday tilt against Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma at historic Gallagher-Iba Arena.

HCU is still hunting for its first win of the campaign, most recently dropping the back end of a two-game homestand in a heart-breaking 89-87 loss to UTSA.

The Roadrunners would push out to a 13-point advantage in the first half before the Huskies fought back, closing to within one, 47-46 at the break. In the second session, the Roadrunners would take an 11-point lead on a couple of occasions, but again, the Huskies would answer.

A breakaway dunk by Bonke Maring pulled HCU to 70-65 near the nine-minute mark, and a three-point play by Jay Alvarez cut a double-figure deficit in half once again at the four-minute media, 82-76.

UTSA would lead by two and was then fouled with six seconds to go, and a split of the free throws put HCU down three with a chance to tie. The Runners elected to immediately foul Michael Imariagbe with three seconds left, sending the junior transfer to the line for two shots. He canned the first, then missed the second intentionally. The ball bounded through traffic into the hands of Bruce Carpenter at the top of the circle, but his running floater bounced off the iron, allowing the visitors to escape Sharp Gym with the win.

Greene led the Huskies with a career-best 23 points to go with five rebounds and two assists. Jay Alvarez had 19 points while Imariagbe notched his first double-double as a Husky with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bonke Maring had a solid all-around night, collected 16 points, five boards, three assists and three steals.

The Huskies are led by Greene, who is averaging 16.7 points a game to led a group of four players in double-figure scoring. Imariagbe averages 14 points and six boards and Pierce Bazil averages 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. Pre-season All-SLC 1st-team selection Maring is averaging 10 points, a team-best 6.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

HCU will take on an Oklahoma State team sitting at 2-3 on the season after defeating fellow Southland foe New Orleans 96-68 on Monday night. The two teams have met twelve times over the years, with the Cowboys holding an 11-1 series advantage. The clubs have not met since a 101-74 win by OSU in Stillwater in 2017.

The Pokes are led by 6'3 guard Javon Small, who is shooting 46% from the arc and averaging 16 points to go along with 5.8 boards and five assists. Jamyron Keller, a 6'3 freshman guard, made his season debut against UNO on Monday with 18 points. Mike Marsh, a 6'10, 250 senior post is averaging 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds to lead the play inside the paint.

HCU will hit the highway for the second half of their Thanksgiving trip and middle leg of the road swing, heading to Fort Worth on Monday night to face off with TCU.
