BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The HCU women's basketball team is set for its second consecutive matchup with a power 5 opponent this Monday evening when the Huskies make the easy trip to Reed Arena to take on the Texas A&M Aggies at 7:00 p.m.
The Huskies (1-3) fell to ninth-ranked ACC-member Virginia Tech last Thursday in Blacksburg, Va. Junior
Enya Maguire leads HCU in scoring with 11.5 points per game after scoring a team-high 13 against the Hokies. She has knocked down 10 three-pointers so far this season with her 2.5 made threes per game ranking third in the Southland Conference.
The Aggies (2-1) own home wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and North Texas this season and most recently fell on the road to Purdue. Sophomore Janiah Barker leads a trio of A&M players averaging double-figures in scoring at 13 ppg while Aicha Coulibaly and Lauren Ware average 12.7 ppg and 11.7 ppg, respectively. Ware is 12
th in the nation with 12.3 rebounds per game.
Monday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Huskies and Aggies.
HCU will be back at home this coming Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 6:00 p.m. for a pre-Turkey Day matchup with Mount St. Joseph, led by former HCU women's basketball player Maisie Elston.
