The Huskies (1-0) began the season with a 46-34 road victory over Northern Colorado last week. Sophomore quarterback
Justin Fomby was 15-for-29 for 305 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. Freshman running back
Ismail Mahdi was the Stats Perform FedEx Ground National Freshman Player of the Week and the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week after rushing 25 times for 184 yards and a touchdown and adding two catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Junior
Karl Reynolds led HBU with four catches for 94 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore
Ismael Fuller and freshman

Jalyx Hunt was the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week, totaling eight tackles, returning a fumble for the game-sealing touchdown, forcing a fumble, recording a sack, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry. Sophomore safety

Brady Buell averaged 46.0 yards on four punts, with a long of 52 and landing one inside the 20. Junior

Saturday marks the season opener for Lindenwood, which went 9-3 and made the Division II playoffs, before jumping up to Division I this year. The Lions return their leading passer, quarterback Cade Brister, who completed nearly 71 percent of his passes last season for 1,572 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions, while also rushing for 317 yards and seven scores. Robert Giaimo was LU's leading rusher with 742 yards and 11 touchdowns and the leading returning receiver is Payton Rose, who made 45 catches for 707 yards and nine touchdowns.

Kai Ross is the returning leading tackler with 64 and also led the Lions with six interceptions. Tayvian Weary is the leading returner with a pair of sacks last year.

Saturday marks the first meeting between the two programs.

The Huskies are off next week, before returning to action on the road for an FBS matchup against Texas State Sept. 24 in San Marcos.
