FORT WORTH, Texas – The HBU beach volleyball team will play four matches, including three against ranked teams, in the TCU Invitational Friday and Saturday at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
The Huskies (10-17) split a pair of matches at home, defeating Stephen F. Austin, before falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville last Friday at Third Coast. Juniors
Maddie Butters and
Lauren Huggins have played the last six matches at number one, while sophomore
Alison Stanfill and freshman
Abbey Reinard have played the last two at number two. Sophomore
Shelby O'Neal has played at the three spot with junior
Kristen Kleymeyer and freshman
Gabi Axelrod, with senior
Brennan Miller and sophomore
Mary Alper teaming up at both four and five.
HBU takes on No. 9 Stanford Friday at 8 a.m., followed by a matchup with No. 16 Pepperdine at noon. The Huskies will Missouri State on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., then take on second-ranked TCU at 3:30 p.m.
HBU will host the Southland Conference Championship April 22-24 at Third Coast Volleyball Club.
