HOUSTON – The UTSA Roadrunners took an early lead with a four spot in the first inning en route to a 9-1 victory over the Huskies Tuesday night at Husky Field.
 
Shelby Echols, Avery Drake and Sarah Venker provided hit for HBU (6-6) while Riley Martin provided their lone run on a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom of the fourth inning.
 
Madison Cotton (0-2) started in the circle for HBU giving up seven runs (six earned) on five hits, five walks, and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. Sarah Venker came in from left field to finish out the final 2.2 innings. She allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one.
 
Sophie Campbell went 2-4 for the Roadrunners (4-10) including a two RBI double. Tatum Seith earned her first win of the season for UTSA allowing one earned run in 4.1 innings of work.
