NATCHITOCHES, La. – HBU and Northwestern State will meet in Southland Conference men's basketball action for the second time in eight days when they face-off at Prather Coliseum on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Husky fans can listen to all the action with Garrett Jones providing play-by-play on the Husky Sports Network available at HBUHuskies.com.
 
The Huskies (7-13, 3-4 SLC) snapped a three-game losing skid on Saturday with a 93-80 win over visiting Southeastern. Darius Lee scored a career-best 32 points, after scoring 30 against Northwestern State on Thursday, while Brycen Long added 15 and Jade Tse had 14. Lee also matched a career-high with six steals in the win. HBU out-rebounded SLU, the Southland Tip-Off champion, 43-31 in the win and forced the Lions into a season-high 21 turnovers.
 
Since SLC play started, Lee has averaged 23.9 points per game to rank second in the league. Additionally, his 3.7 steals per game in that stretch is tops in the conference and he also ranks third in field goal percentage (55.7 percent), sixth in rebounding (7.4 rpg) and seventh in assists (3.3 apg).
 
Northwestern State (7-17, 3-4 SLC) dropped its last game at McNeese, 93-84, after winning its previous three. Carvell Teasett and Kendal Coleman each scored 16 for the Demons in the loss. NSU shot 44.4 percent from the floor and 40.9 percent from three in the loss.
 
Coleman and Teasett lead the Demons, averaging 14.8 ppg and 13.5 ppg, respectively. Coleman, meanwhile, ranks 23rd in the nation with 9.4 rpg and his 11 double-doubles this season is tied for 13th most nationally. The Demons have found their three-point shooting stroke since SLC play began, connecting on 43.5 percent from behind the arc against league foes while shooting 35.6 percent for the season.
 
When the Huskies and Demons met in Sharp Gym last Thursday, NSU matched a program record with 17 made threes in taking a 97-87 victory. HBU shot 54.7 percent for the game but was unable to overcome the three-point barrage of the Demons.
 
HBU's return trip to Southeastern follows on Saturday, Feb. 12, afternoon at the University Center in Hammond, La. with tip-off set for the 4:00 p.m.
