MSOC: Pratt Adds Sillah Suwaneh for 2023 Season

Suwaneh comes to HCU after spending two seasons at Longwood

HOUSTON – HCU head men's soccer coach Ryan Pratt announced the addition of goalkeeper Sillah Suwaneh as a mid-year transfer from Longwood in Virginia. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.

A 6-1 keeper from Lorton, Va., Suwaneh spent two years, one a redshirt season, with the Lancers. He played club throughout high school and was a four-time selection for the Virginia Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program. He reached the USYS Nationals in 2021, placing fifth and is a three-time VYSA State Cup Champion.

"Sillah is a promising and talented goalkeeper who is a good shot stopper, quick off his line and has good feet/distribution as well," said Pratt. "He is a tremendous person and will fit our culture very well with his high character and great competitiveness."

Suwaneh will join the HCU program for the 2023 spring semester.
