KATY, Texas – HBU men's basketball is set for the Southland Conference Tip-Off Event taking place over three days at the Merrell Center with the Huskies playing three non-conference games against SLC opponents, beginning with Southeastern on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Husky fans can watch all three days on ESPN+ while Garrett Jones will provide play-by-play on the Husky Sports Network, available at HBUHuskies.com.
HBU (4-6) and Southeastern (4-9) meet for the first time since Feb. 5, 2020 when the Huskies earned a 79-76 win over the Lions in Hammond, La. HBU is 6-7 all-time against SLU.
On Monday, the Huskies defeated Ecclesia at home in Sharp Gym by a 94-63 margin.

Tristan Moore all contributing 12. HBU out-rebounded the Royals by 14, 43-29, and freshman
Deshon Proctor led the way with eight boards.
The Huskies have out-rebounded opponents by 8.2 rebounds per game, the best margin in the conference with Nicholls ranking second at +3.9. HBU is 23
rd in the nation in rebounding margin and the team's 13.7 offensive rebounds per game ranks 20
th. The Huskies also boast the second-best scoring defense in the league, allowing opponents to score 70.5 points per game.
Southeastern last played on Dec. 21, falling 93-62 at Iowa. Junior Gus Okafor and senior Jalyn Hinton lead the Lions in scoring and rebounding with Okafor averaging 12.8 ppg and 5.4 rpg while Hinton is adding 11.5 ppg and 7.4 rpg. SLU is 42
nd in the nation in turnovers forced per game, averaging 16.23, and average 17.8 points off turnovers per game.
Depending on the outcome of Thursday's game, the Huskies will play at either 11:00 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Thursday's winner and loser from the HBU-SLU game will face the winner or loser of the New Orleans-McNeese matchup.
