HOUSTON - The HBU men's soccer team is set to host the reigning WAC champions Grand Canyon on Friday, and Air Force on Sunday for two WAC contests at Sorrels Field.
 
The Huskies are coming off of their first WAC matchup of the season, falling to UIW 2-0. Luis Poblacion, CJ Smith, and Bryant Farkarlun all had shots on goal for the Huskies.
 
17th-ranked Grand Canyon (6-1-0, 1-0-0) has picked up right where they left off since coming off of a WAC championship in the Covid shortened 2020 season. In seven contests this season, their only loss came on the road against fifth-ranked Washington. The Lopes opened conference play with a win against Seattle U last Saturday at GCU Stadium
 
The Lopes have never lost to the Huskies at Sorrels Field. Historically, the teams have played tight, high scoring matches against each other, combining for 22 goals in their last four head-to-head contests.
 
The Falcons (2-4-1, 1-0-0) are coming off of an opening weekend WAC victory against San Jose State, 2-0. The Huskies will look to end a six-match skid against Air Force on Sunday afternoon.
 
Kickoff against the Lopes is scheduled for Friday at 7pm at Sorrels Field. Kickoff against the Falcons is scheduled for 2:30pm Sunday at Sorrels Field, immediately following the women's match.
