Audrey Pearce hit .636 with a career-high 15 kills and posted six blocks, while senior middle blocker
Jada Allen hit. 429 with 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Sophomore outside hitter
Sara Arroyo had five kills and freshman outside hitter
Alyssa May had three. Sophomore right side Ashlen Jenning had three blocks. Junior setter
Ellie Wipf recorded 28 assists, three kills and five digs. Sophomore libero
Kaley Feris led the Huskies (9-5) with eight digs, junior defensive specialist
Marlayna Stapleton had seven and freshman defensive specialist
Tatiana Evans chipped in with six.
Tamaira Johnson led the Lady Tigers (3-6) with seven kills, while Saige Rivers and Semira Fields each had six. Kalee Cadwell handed out 13 assists and had six digs and Jada Taylor led Grambling defensively with 16 digs.
HBU held Grambling to a .042 attack percentage. The Lady Tigers outdug the Huskies, 43-40, but HBU outblocked Grambling, 16-6, and had four aces to Grambling's two.
Wipf and Pearce were named to the all-tournament team.
The Huskies return to action when they host McNeese in the Southland Conference opener Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
