SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Huskies fall 2-0 to Incarnate Word in WAC play on Friday night at Benson Stadium in San Antonio.
HBU (0-6-1 WAC) weren't able to put a shot up until after the Cardinals (2-4 WAC) scored a goal by Eduardo Perez with assistance from Francisco Segura in the 24th minute. Luis Poblacion put a shot on goal late in the first half but was saved by UIW. With another close shot from UIW and a save from Gustavo Otero the Huskies went into the half scoreless. The Cardinals were able to seal the Huskies fate with another Perez goal in the 69th minute. The Huskies were able to get in four more close shots, with one dangerously close by Bryant Farkarlun, but a save from Beck led the clock running out for the UIW victory.
The Huskies had seven shots with three on goal to the Cardinals 12 shots and five on goal. Gustavo Otero had three saves in the goal for HBU while Charles Beck also had three for UIW.
The Huskies will head back home as they host UT Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday, March 31 at 6 p.m. with just three regular season games remaining.
