HOUSTON – HBU will host a single game this weekend with Abilene Christian visiting Sorrels Field for a Southland Conference women's soccer matchup on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.
The Huskies (1-6-1, 1-4-0 SLC) aim to make it two conference wins in a row after downing Central Arkansas last Friday in an exciting 3-2 win.
Xya Balderas and
Noor Abukishk both finished that win with a goal and assist with Abukishk's score proving to be the game-winner. The Huskies have seen six different players score goals this season with just
Ryan Ford scoring more than one, at two, on the year.
Abilene Christian (5-4-1, 1-2-0 SLC) enters Friday's game coming off a 1-0 home win over McNeese in their last outing. The Wildcats have played just one road game in conference play, falling at SFA, 2-0. Senior Christina Arteaga owns both of ACU's goals in SLC play and leads the team with seven points on three goals and one assist over 10 games. Erin Smith has played every minute in goal for ACU and has posted three shutouts.
The Huskies will play their final two home games of the season next weekend when they host Sam Houston on Friday, Mar. 19, and Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Mar. 21.
