WBB: Huskies Return Home To Meet The Wildcats

 
HBU Huskies (7-5,3-2 SLC) vs. Abilene Christian Wildcats (11-5,4-3)

HOUSTON, TX – HBU women's basketball is back in Sharp Gym to face off with the Abilene Christian Wildcats for the first time this season after a 71-36 road win against Northwestern State. ACU comes into the game after a 76-65 overtime win against Lamar.  

HBU is led by Timia Jefferson who is fifth is scoring for the SLC with 14.9 points per game while adding 
22 assists and leading the team with 25 steals. N'Denasija Collins added her fourth double-double performance this past weekend averaging 10.3 points per game and totaling 19 steals. Collins is currently fifth in overall rebounding for the SLC. Kennedy Wilson currently averages 9.5 points per game with an added 23 steals and leads the team with totaled 42 assists. Marilyn Nzoiwu averages 7.4 rebounds per game, leads the team with 25 blocks, and ranks first in the SLC with 2.27 blocks per game. Nzoiwu also ranks fourth in the conference for rebounding.  

The Huskies stand in the SLC as second in 
free-throw percentage with .736, third in offensive rebounding, first in defensive rebounding, first in blocked shots with 4.58, and fourth in both stealing and assists. The team is scoring 40.7 percent from the field, 73.6 percent from the line, and averages 39.3 rebounds on the season.  

ACU is led 
Anna McLeod with 16.3 points per game with an added 20 steals and 36 assists. Alyssa Adams adds closely behind with 16.2 points per game, leading her team with 9.6 rebounds per game and an added 20 steals and 24 blocks. Kamryn Mraz averages 8.9 points per game with 56 assists and 20 steals, while Madi Miller adds 8.8 points per game, 60 assists, and 25 steals.  

The Wildcats stand in the conference 
as first in free-throw and field-goal percentage, first in defensive rebounding and fourth in offensive rebounding, second in assists, and third in offensive scoring. The team averages 46.4 percent from the field76.1 percent from the line, and 38.4 rebounds per game.  

The Huskies will travel on Saturday to next see action at 2 p.m. against Lamar in Beaumont, Texas.
