LAKE CHARLES, La. – Saturday evening marks the final road game of the season for HBU men's basketball when the Huskies play their third game in a row in Louisiana, facing McNeese at 7:30 p.m. inside Burton Coliseum. HBU (4-15, 3-8 SLC) and McNeese (9-11, 3-8 SLC) are currently separated by just one point in the Southland Conference standings based on the league's points system being utilized this season for conference tournament seeding. The Cowboys are currently at 11 points in line for the eighth seed with the Huskies holding 10 points. HBU has one more game still scheduled to be played than the Cowboys.
The last time the two teams met, sophomore
Zach Iyeyemi set a new career-high with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting and was 5-of-5 from the foul line to go with five rebounds and a career-best three blocked shots. Over his last nine games, Iyeyemi is shooting 71.4 percent (30-of-42) from the floor and is now at 60 percent for the season.
The Cowboys are coming off a 95-91 road win at Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday with senior KeyShawn Feazell's 22 points and 11 rebounds leading the way. Feazell is leading the team in scoring and rebounding on the season, averaging 14.2 ppg and a conference-leading 10.5 rpg. The Cowboys are averaging 74.1 ppg in SLC play this season.
HBU will be back at it inside Sharp Gym for the regular season's final three games beginning on Monday, Mar. 1, when they Huskies take on the Sam Houston Bearkats at 7:00 p.m.
