HOUSTON – Winter Storm Uri wiped out the expected spring home opener against Central Arkansas but Sunday's scheduled Southland Conference matchup at Sorrels Field between the HBU Huskies and Northwestern State is set to go on at 1:00 p.m.

The Huskies (0-2-1, 0-1-0 SLC) are looking for their first win of the season after finishing their lone fall matchup in a tie and falling in a pair of road matches so far this spring. Last season's meeting between the two teams went to the Lady Demons (3-0-0, 1-0-0 SLC), 3-1, and the last meeting at Sorrels Field in 2018 finished with a 1-0 HBU win in overtime.

Last weekend the Huskies fell in their conference opener at UIW, 4-0. HBU's two goals so far this season have come from freshmen with Kat Lazor and Evelyn Slaughter both recording their first collegiate goals.

For Northwestern State, the Lady Demons have won all three of their matches this spring on the road. Junior Kalee Williams has recorded three goals in three games as the team is out-scoring opponents 6-1 so far this season. In goal, Acelya Aydogmus has a pair of shutouts to her name and has made eight saves so far.

HBU will hit the road again next weekend to face McNeese in Lake Charles, La. on Friday, Feb. 26, before heading closer to home for a Sunday, Feb. 28, matchup at Lamar.
