MSOC: Huskies Fall to Grand Canyon

Farkarlun scores first career goal

PHOENIX, AZ - The Huskies fell to Grand Canyon University in their first road trip of the season by a final score of 2-1. 

HBU (0-2-1,0-2 WAC) was able to find the back of the net for the first time this season for Bryant Farkarlun with assistance from Alex Reyes in a little under 17 minutes into the game. The Huskies had nine shots on the night with two shots on goal with four of the shots and one shot on goal by Gianluca Natera, a shot from Nick Coburn and three shots from Luis Poblacion. Although having two goals against him on the night, JP Becerra had six saves on the night.  

GCU (1-0,1-0 WAC) had 23 shots on the night with eight shots on goal. The Lopes came out strong with a goal in the first 9:26 of the game from Maximilian Moeller with assistance from Marco Afonso and Justin Rasmussen. After a shot saved by Becerra at 29th minute, Ray Gaytan was able to find the back of the net for the final goal for GCU.  

The Huskies will return home for a matchup against California Baptist for a mid-Sunday game with kickoff at 2 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Sorrels Field. Then it's on the road again as HBU travels to UNLV for a Friday evening game at 8 p.m. on the fifth to kick of the month of March.
