HUNTSVILLE, TX – The Huskies start a week of travel to face the Sam Houston Bearkats on Wednesday evening in the Johnson Coliseum. Fans can watch on ESPN+ and tune into Bill Cousins on radio. The Huskies come into the game after a big 70-61 victory against Nicholls. 

Timia Jefferson continues to lead the Huskies (6-4,2-1 SLC) averaging 14.9 points per game after a stellar performance to break her career high with 28 points against Nicholls with an added 21 steals on the season. N'Denasija Collins continues to contribute across the stat board averaging 10.1 points per game, 14 steals, and leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game. After a career high 18 points against Nicholls, Kennedy Wilson averages 9.3 points per game, 18 steals, and leads with team with 41 total assists.  

The Bearkats (7-5,3-3SLC) last saw the Huskies twice in 2020 with a 75-60 victory in Huntsville and a 97-69 victory in Sharp gym. Sam Houston is led by three-time SLC Player of the Week Amber Leggett averaging 20.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. The Kats come into the game after a 104-69 loss to Stephen F. Austin with Leggett scoring 27 points.  

The Huskies will head to Northwestern State to face off for the second time this season on Saturday, Feb. 6 for a matinee matchup at 1 p.m.
