HOUSTON – With a strong second half from the Redhawks, Seattle was able to upend the Huskies keeping them scoreless in a 3-0 victory to start off HBU conference play at Sorrels Field on Saturday afternoon.
HBU (0-1-1, 0-1 WAC) put up eight shots, with a few dangerous chances, but couldn't find the back of the net. Diego Aguilero Cubero and Luis Poblacion both had two shot attempts and one shot on goal. Gianluca Natera, Bryant Farkarlun, and Jordi Cobo contributed with one shot attempt and shot on goal each. JP Becerra had three saves on the game compared to his three goals against.
Seattle's (2-1,1-1 WAC) Akili Kasim had a five save shutout with the Redhawks's 12 shots on the game and a goal from three different Redhawks. James Morris scored the first goal in the 48th minute with an assist from Denis Dogan after a cross from Jesse Ortiz. Habib Barry was able to finalize on the second goal after a save from HBU's Becerra. Denis Dogan went for a 20-yard shot after a led pass from Hal Uderitz for the final goal of the game to end in a victory.
The Huskies will head to Phoenix, Az in a matchup against Grand Canyon at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.
