MSOC: Ryan Pratt Announces Signing of Alex Aitken

Aitken will join the Huskies in 2022

HOUSTON – HBU men's soccer head coach Ryan Pratt announced the signing of goalkeeper Alex Aitken Tuesday morning.

A native of Bedford, England, Aitken attended Marriotts Secondary School in Stevenage, England where he graduated in 2020.

He played for club teams Stevenage FC U18 and U23 for coaches Jorden Gibson and Luke O'Reily. He had 25+ EFL Youth Alliance appearances, multiple U23 appearances and was featured in three FA Youth Cup Campaigns. His team made the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup in 2019 and was on the game day roster for the club's First Team in preseason action versus Dover Athletic.

He was born to his parents Brenda and Alex Aiken. He has three brothers, Andrew (38), Peter (36) and James (16). Aitken chose HBU for the opportunity to experience a new culture while pursuing his athletic and career goals.

"Alex is a proven goalkeeper that has played in many meaningful games for his club throughout his young career. He is an excellent shot stopper, communicator, is very technical with the ball at his feet, and is an ultimate competitor," Pratt said. "Alex is a tremendous addition to our program and I expect him to compete to play right away."
