BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The HBU men's basketball team was unable to overcome a cold shooting performance on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Texas A&M, 73-39, at Reed Arena.

The Huskies (1-2) kept it close early with multiple ties in the first few minutes with a pair of back-to-back buckets from Za-Ontay Boothman putting HBU ahead 9-7 just over five minutes into the game. The Aggies (4-0) then went on an 11-0 run to take an 18-9 lead four minutes later. Darius Lee broke the Huskies' scoreless drought with a pair of free throws and scored the next six points for HBU, bring the Huskies back to within five, 20-15. A 10-point run by Texas A&M pushed it to a 15-point lead and the Huskies went into the locker room trailing by 14, 35-21, at the half.

In the second half, HBU came out cold shooting the ball, not scoring until the 11:01 mark on a Sam Hofman layup while the Aggies shot well and took advantage of eight turnovers forced in the first six minutes, scoring the first 22 points of the half.

Lee led the Huskies with 13 points and eight rebounds, tying for the game-high in scoring. The senior was 4-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line. Boothman and Brycen Long both added nine points for the Huskies. Long was 3-of-5 from three-point range. HBU shot 26.5 percent (13-of-49) from the floor and 20 percent (5-of-25) from three.

Texas A&M had four players score in double-figures and shot 46.7 percent (28-of-60) from the field. The Aggies defense came into the game forcing just under 20 turnovers per game and caused 22 HBU turnovers.

The Huskies leave the state for the first time this season for a Sunday, Nov. 21, matchup in Denver, Colo. against the Denver Pioneers at 3:00 p.m. CT.
