HOUSTON – HBU is hosting crosstown Division-III opponent St. Thomas (TX) in women's basketball regular season action Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
The Huskies (0-1, 0-0 SLC) are coming off of a season opening loss against a very good TCU Horned Frog team. In the game,
Julija Vujakovic led the Huskies in scoring with 11 points, connecting on three of her seven three-point attempts. Preseason Southland First Team All-Conference
Timia Jefferson came off the bench and scored 10 points along with two steals while playing a team high 28 minutes.
N'Denasija Collins had a team high seven rebounds while
Abbey Sutherland scored six points and added four boards of her own.
The Celts (1-1, 0-0 SCAC) have a win against Arlington Baptist and a loss against Dallas Christian through two games this season. The Celts are led by sophomore guard Micayla Hamilton who scored 19 points on 57.1 percent shooting against Dallas Baptist.
This will be the first time HBU and St. Thomas have faced each other.
The Huskies will remain at home Tuesday when they host Texas Wesleyan at 6:00 p.m.
