MSOC: Huskies Give Up Two Late Goals, Fall 2-1

Huskies back in WAC action next weekend when they travel to UNLV and Dixie St.

HOUSTON – The HBU men's soccer team was unable to hold off Air Force after a Bryant Farkarlun goal and lost to Air Force 2-1 in a WAC match this afternoon on the campus of Emery Weiner School.

The Huskies got on the board early in the contest. In the 5th minute Sebastian Cochrane played a ball into the box where Bryant Farkarlun (3) was able to beat his defender and put his shot in the back of the net giving the Huskies an early 1-0 lead. HBU's goal keeper Ciro Calderon had a busy first half, as six of the nine shots Air Force took half were on target. Calderon saved all of them and sent the Huskies into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

Air Force had a very strong half of defense in the second half, allowing the Huskies to have three shot attempts, none of which were on goal. Defense turned into offense late for the Falcons. In the 75th minute, off a Husky turnover, London Aghedo found Michael Neacsu near the far corner of the 18-yard box, who found an open Tristan Trager for the goal. Nine minutes later Falcons' London Aghedo hit a flashing Kobey Stoup in the center of the box who deflected the pass passed a diving Calderon and into the back of the net to extend the lead, 2-1.

For the game, Air Force led the Huskies in total shots and shots on goal 20(9) – 10(3) and corner kicks, 7-3. Huskies' Calderon ended the afternoon with seven saves and Falcons Kainoa Likewise had two.

The Huskies return to action next weekend for their first WAC road trip of the season. They travel to Las Vegas on Friday to take on UNLV at 5pm before heading to Utah on Sunday to take on Dixie State at 8pm.
