ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The HBU men's soccer team was blanked by Dixie State in a Western Athletic Conference matchup at Greater Zion Stadium Sunday night.
The Ram's (2-9-1, 1-3-1 WAC) got on board early in the 7
th minute when Trevor Dillon connected with Matt Lockwood who put a shot past the keeper and into the back of the net. HBU (2-10-0, 0-5-0 WAC) was held to just two shots, one on goal, in the first half. Just before halftime,
Nathan Karmbor sent a shot towards goal, but it was right at the keeper and saved to preserve the Ram's 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Huskies had several opportunities in the second half to even things up, with five different Huskies getting at least one shot on goal. Ram's goal keeper Jacob Zimmerman had a strong night, saving all seven shots sent in his direction.
HBU finished with 13 shots, 11 of which came in the second half, and seven on goal. Dixie State finished with 11 shots, and five on goal.
