HOUSTON – After a 24-day period without game day action, the HBU women's basketball team are back in Sharp Gym for a matchup against the Lamar Cardinals on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. HBU last saw action at the start of the month with an 82-56 victory against Northwestern State.  
 
The Huskies (5-3,1-0 SLC) come into the game with only eight games under their belt. The team is currently led by Timia Jefferson averaging 13.6 points per game and dominating with 18 steals, while N'Denasija Collins adds 9.9 points and six rebounds per game and 12 steals. Kennedy Wilson contributes 8.9 points per game, 14 steals, and leads with 29 assists. Marilyn Nzoiwu currently leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and 13 blocks.  
 
The Cardinals (3-9,2-2 SLC) come into the game after a 39-69 loss at Stephen F. Austin. Anyssia Gibbs led the team with 12 points and four rebounds while Micaela Wilson added seven points and four rebounds. Shedrika Pierson led the team with five rebounds.  
 
The Huskies next game against Nicholls on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1:00 p.m. In Sharp Gym.
