SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A four-game road stretch that will keep HBU away from its home floor for nearly three weeks starts this Wednesday evening when the Huskies take on UIW at the McDermott Convocation Center. HBU dropped a heartbreaker this past Saturday at home to McNeese, coming up just short in the 74-71 final. The Huskies trailed by nine at the half and then opened the second period with a 24-4 run to lead by 11 but were unable to hang on as McNeese eked out the win. Sophomore

In the last four games, he has missed just three shots to go 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) while averaging 8.8 points per game.
UIW is led by sophomore guard Keaston Willis who is third in the conference in season scoring at 19.4 ppg and is averaging 17.2 ppg in SLC play. Willis has attempted nearly three times as many shots as any other player on the Cardinals' roster, shooting 42.1 percent (75-of-178) from the field and 31.3 percent (21-of-67) from three. He also leads the team with 18 steals and is adding 4.6 rebounds per game. As a team in conference play, UIW is shooting 41.9 percent (49-of-117) from three while holding opponents to just 27.5 percent (25-of-91).
The Cardinals have alternated wins and losses so far against Southland opponents, most recently defeating Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at home, 72-53. Freshman Logan Bracamonte enjoyed a big game against the Islanders, posting career-highs of 15 points and eight rebounds while Willis added 13 points.
HBU will head down the coast to Corpus Christi this weekend for a Saturday, Jan. 30, matinee matchup against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders at 3:30 p.m.
