HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The HBU Huskies to Huntsville, Texas in a rematch with the Sam Houston State Bearkats in Southland conference basketball at 3 p.m. in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum
 
The Huskies (6-18, 2-13 SLC) are coming off a close loss to the fourth place Abilene Christian Wildcats. 84-79 where five Huskies scored in double digits. HBU in their past two games have scored an average of 75.5 points per game which is 14 points higher than their average scoring on the year. The Huskies offense is led by junior Megan Valdez-Crader who leads the team in scoring with 11.5 ppg while averaging 2.7 assists per game while shooting 36.5 percent from the field. Freshman forward N'Denasija Collins is coming off an 18-point performance that is almost 12 points higher than her average, 6.7 per game. Collins leads the team in field goal percentage with 48.7 percent from the field while also ranking second amongst the Huskies in rebounds with 4.1 behind sophomore Marilyn Nzoiwu's 4.7 average.
 
The Bearkats (18-7, 13-3 SLC) at 7-3 in their last ten and are 4-2 in their last six home matchups. Amber Leggett is the leading scorer for Sam Houston State with an average of 15.7 ppg ranking her second in the Southland. Leggett is averaging 20.8 ppg in her last four matchups while holding an average of 7.2 in those four matchups. Kiera McKinney ranks second in the conference in blocked shots with 41 on the year averaging 1.6 per game.

The Huskies return to Sharp after a midweek matchup hosted by the Nicholls Colonel in Thibodaux, Louisiana Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the David R. Stopher Gymnasium.
