HBU Announces 2020-21 Basketball Attendance Policies

Sharp Gym seating will be limited to 200

HOUSTON – Basketball season is finally among us! The 2020-21 HBU home schedules tip off with a doubleheader Saturday, Dec. 5, as the women host Arlington Baptist at noon, followed by the men taking on Rice at 7 p.m.

HBU Athletics is happy to announce we will be allowing fans in Sharp Gym for men's and women's basketball games, but with a limited seating capacity of 200. We are limiting that 200 to include the two teams' pass lists and season ticket holders, with the remainder available to current HBU students.

There will be no single-game tickets and there will be no walk-up sales available. We highly encourage you to purchase our season passes, while supplies last, if you are interested in attending and will not be on the team pass lists or are not a current HBU student. As an additional policy, we will be scanning student IDs to validate current HBU students. If you are a student, please walk in with your valid HBU ID out and ready to be scanned. Student admittance will be on a first-come-first-served basis until the maximum seating capacity has been reached.

All entry will be where the student entrance has been in past seasons – the south (left) side of the main lobby of Sharp Gym. Season ticket holders and some students will be sat behind the basket in the chair backs, while the pass lists and the overflow of students will be sat on the south side of the gym (across from the benches). In compliance with NCAA and Southland Conference safety guidelines, all fans will be required to wear a face covering and we are encouraging physical distancing of at least six feet between parties.

For more information about ticketing or entry procedures, please contact our ticket office at (281) 649-3143.
