HOUSTON – Texas – The Huskies return home to face the Texas A&M- Corpus Christi Islanders this Saturday afternoon in Southland Conference basketball. The Huskies Sports Network will be broadcast with live play-by-play by Lonnie King at HBUHuskies.com
 
In the Huskies (5,13 1-8 SLC) last game freshman guard Timia Jefferson scored in double figures for her third straight game raising her average 11.7 points per game. The Huskies are coming off a team-high in blocks with nine and held an advantage in rebounds, 39-31, that helped the Huskies keep control in their victory Wednesday evening. Sophomore guard Marilyn Nzoiwu leads the Huskies in average rebounds per game with 4.2.
 
The Islanders (14-6, 8-2 SLC) Alexis Bryant is 12th in conference and leads the team in scoring with 12.6 ppg and in field goal percentage with 49.8 percent from the field and ranking third in conference in blocked shots with 1.4. Dalesia Booth averages 12.1 ppg with 5.4 rebounds per game, and an average of 1.4 blocks per game.
 
The Huskies are on the road Wednesday to faceoff with the New Orleans Privateers at 7 p.m. in the UNO Lakefront Arena
