LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The HBU Huskies (4-12 0-7 SLC) head to Lake Charles to take on the McNeese Cowgirls in Southland Conference basketball this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the H & HP Complex. The game will be broadcast on the Husky Sports Network with Lonnie King.
The Huskies are coming off a close home loss to the Nicholls Colonels and look to bounce back on the road this weekend. Huskies freshman guard Timia Jefferson, coming off of a career-high 27 points in her last game raised her points per game average by more than a point to 10.9. Teammate Megan Valdez-Crader raised her scoring average to a team-leading 11.0 ppg and also now ranks 6th in the conference with 2.2 steals per game.
The Cowgirls (4-13, 1-7 SLC) come into the matchup with three players averaging 10.2 ppg. Cowgirls forward Damilola Balogun is shooting 45.5 percent from the field while her teammate Bre'Ashlee Jones is averaging 7.2 rebounds per game.
Following the matchup Saturday, the Huskies head to San Antonio to battle the Incarnate Word Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. in the McDermott Center.
