THIBODAUX, La. – This Wednesday the HBU men's basketball team travels to Stopher Gymnasium for a Southland Conference matchup against the Nicholls Colonels at 7:00 p.m.. As always when the Huskies are on the road, fans can catch all the action on the Husky Sports Network with Lonnie King providing play-by-play via HBUHuskies.com.
 
The Huskies (1-14, 1-5 SLC) are coming off a home loss to Sam Houston State in which junior Ian DuBose led all players with 27 points and freshman Noah Thomasson added 14 off the bench. DuBose continues to pace the conference in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game. Thomasson, meanwhile, has been on fire offensively over the last three games, shooting 80 percent (12-of-15) from the floor and averaging 11.3 ppg.
 
Nicholls (12-7, 6-2 SLC) is 7-1 on its home floor this season with the lone blemish coming a week ago, falling to Northwestern State 73-72. Senior Dexter McClanahan leads the Colonels with 14.6 ppg while sophomore Warith Alatishe is tops on the squad and third in the conference with 8.5 rebounds per game. As a team, Nicholls is out-scoring opponents by nearly 10 points per game for the year and owns a turnover margin of plus-5.8.
 
The Huskies and Colonels split a pair of games last season with Nicholls earning a one-point win at home while HBU won by six inside Sharp Gym.
 
HBU will remain in Louisiana for its next game with a visit to Lake Charles, La. for a 3:30 p.m tip-off against the McNeese Cowboys on Saturday, Jan. 25.
