HOUSTON- HBU (4-10, 0-5 SLC) returns home to host league-leading Sam Houston State (12-4, 7-0 SLC) in Southland Conference basketball Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sharp Gym. The Husky Sports Network broadcast with Lonnie King will be available on HBUHuskies.com

Junior guard Megan Valdez-Crader scoring in double figures in her past two outings brought her average to 10.4 points per game with a total of 30 steals on the year for the Huskies. Sophomore center Marilyn Nzoiwu's has a team-leading 58 rebounds with an average of 4.1 rebounds per game.  Freshman center Abbey Sutherland ranks 10th in the conference and leads the Huskies with 10 blocks on the year.

Bearkats forward Amber Leggett comes into the weekend leading the conference in scoring an average of 15.0 points per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Post Kiera McKinney has recorded 26 blocks on the year ranking 2nd in the conference.

HBU returns to action against Nicholls Wednesday at 7.
