BUFFALO, N.Y. – HBU women's soccer is headed to upstate New York this coming weekend for a pair of matches against first-time opponents Buffalo and Niagara, marking the program's first ever games in the Empire State.
The Huskies (1-2-0) open against the Buffalo Bulls (0-2-0) on Friday, Sept. 6, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. CDT followed by their matchup with the Purple Eagles of Niagara in Niagara University, N.Y. on Sunday, Sept. 8, afternoon at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
HBU is coming off a pair of tough 2-1 losses on the road this past weekend at the hands of North Texas and Texas State. Freshman

Buffalo enters Friday's game having dropped a pair of road contests by identical 1-0 scores. The Bulls opened the season with a loss at Navy with the lone goal coming on an early penalty kick and then controlled much of the match at St. Bonaventure, holding an 18-3 advantage in shots and a 6-0 margin in corner kicks, but the Bonnies found the net in the 76
th minute. Bulls goalkeeper Emily Kelly has face just four shots on goal so far this season.
The Purple Eagles won their season-opener at home over UMass Lowell, 2-1, before splitting a pair of road matches at Akron and Robert Morris. Sophomore Annie Ibey leads Niagara with seven points on three goals and one assist while junior Kelsey Araujo has scored both game-winners and has six points on two goals and two assists. In goal, Sabrina Locas has an .800 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.00.
Following this road trip the Huskies will return home to Sorrels Field to host TCU on Thursday, Sept. 12, and UTSA on Sunday, Sept. 15, with both games set to start at 7:00 p.m.
