HOUSTON - Rice was all over the court defensively as the Owls swept HBU, 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-7), in a non-conference volleyball matchup Tuesday night in Sharp Gym.

Mikayla Vivens led the Huskies (4-4) with seven kills and 10 digs and sophomore middle blocker
Ebonie Ballesteros had three kills and three blocks. Junior setter

Ellie Wipf each had six assists and Dewyer also added six digs.
Nicole Lennon had 12 kills and eight digs for the Owls (7-0), with Tori Woogk chipping in with eight kills and Grace Morgan with six. Lee Ann Cunningham came up with 23 digs and Tabitha Brown had 13. Adria Martinez dished out 16 assists and had eight digs and Carly Graham had 17 assists and three aces.
Rice hit .357 for the match, while holding HBU to .010. The Owls outdug the Huskies, 62-37, and had six aces to HBU's two. Blocks were even at 5.0 apiece.
The Huskies return to action at the Tulsa Invitational this weekend, facing the host Golden Hurricane and SIU-Edwardsville Friday, followed by UTSA Saturday. HBU takes on another crosstown rival when it hosts the University of Houston Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Sharp.
