CORPUS CHRISTI, TX- HBU Women's basketball took home the win in their Saturday afternoon matchup against Texas A&M-CC by a score of 74-56.
HBU (9-19, 4-14) was led the sharpshooting of
Amanda Johnson and
Sophie Taylor. The duo combined for 40 points on 14-21 shooting. Johnson had 22 points including five three pointers and grabbed four rebounds. Taylor had 18 points including four three-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds. Freshman
Marilyn Nzoiwu led the Huskies on the boards grabbing 10 rebounds and scored eight points while also blocking five shots.Â
Texas A&M-CC (14-15, 8-10) had two players score in the double-digits with Alexes Bryant scoring 13 and Tiara Matthews scoring 12. Bryant added three rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Matthews added seven rebounds and two steals. Emma Young attributed an even seven points and seven rebounds.Â
HBU closes out the season with back to back road wins to bring their season record to 9-19 with a 4-14 record in Southland Conference play.Â
