WBB: Huskies Take Down Incarnate Word on the Road
SAN ANTONIO - HBU women's basketball took down the Cardinals of Incarnate Word Wednesday night by a score of 67-52.
HBU (8-19, 3-14) was led by a trio of Huskies:
Sophie Taylor,
Megan Valdez-Crader, and
Amanda Johnson. The three combined for 45 of the HBU 67 points scored on the night. It was nearly a wire-to-wire win as the Huskies led for 34 minutes of the game.
Sophie Taylor led all scorers with 17 points adding five rebounds. Valdez-Crader was right behind her with 16 points and five rebounds.
Amanda Johnson added 12 points with six rebounds, and
Marilyn Nzoiwu grabbed seven boards with four blocks and four points.
Incarnate Word (5-23, 5-12) had two players score in the double digits with Alexis Henry putting up 12 points adding three rebounds and three assists. Gabbi Bowie followed her up with 11 points with four rebounds and five assists. Imani Robinson led the Cardinals on the boards with 11 rebounds to go along with her four points.
The Huskies finish up their season, taking on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Corpus Christi.
