WBB: Women's Basketball Set For Final Road Trip of the Season
SAN ANTONIO, TX- HBU women's basketball is set to make their final road trip of the season as they travel to San Antonio to take on the Cardinals of UIW Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 6:30p.m. with Bill Cousins on the call.
HBU (7-19, 2-14) are coming off a narrow loss to McNeese where the lead changed multiple times in the final minutes. HBU is led by senior
Amanda Johnson who is averaging 13.2 points per game.
Megan Valdez-Crader and
Sophie Taylor follow her up with Valdez-Crader averaging 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Taylor averages 9.8 points and 2.8 rebounds and assists per game including a 21 points in there last outing against McNeese.Â
Incarnate Word (5-22, 5-11) have two straight wins in conference going into Wednesday night. They took down Northwestern State 100-91 and Texas A&M-CC 77-72. The Cardinals will be looking to make it three straight on their Senior Day. UIW is led by Starr Omozee and Imani Robinson. Omozee leads the team in rebounding with 6.1 per game to go with her 8.9 points per game that is good for second best on the team to Robinson. Robinson leads with 9.4 points per game adding 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists.Â
HBU will then have their season finale on the road in Corpus Christi against the Islanders March 9 at 2:30 p.m. The men's teams will be battling for Southland Conference Tournament contention later that night.Â
